There are five airport’s in Hyderabad they are
- Rajiv Gandhi International Airport
- Begumpet Airport
- Dundigul Ariforce Academy
- Hakimpet Airforce Station
- Nadirgul Airport
Rajiv Gandhi Airport is used for commercial purposes, Begumpet Airport is used for VIP Purpose currently, Dundigul Airforce Academy for defence, Hakimpet Air Force Station is also used for defence, Nadirgul Airport is used for training. In the year 2008 and month march the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport was opened it is located at Shamshabad. This is the airport used for all the civil and commercial operations and it is a 4th busiest airport in India. It is 24 Km from Hyderabad.

In the year 1932 the Begumpet airport was established. It is one of the oldest airports in the country which was build and opened by my Mir Osman Ali Kahn who was the last ruling Nizam of Hyderabad and in March 2008 it used to be domestic and international airport. Now the airport is used as air force training centre and also for some special operations like, emergency services and the VIPs private jets but all civil commercial and civil operations are closed. And the remaining airports are used for training and defence.
