Hyderabad airport wins green award


GMR Hyderabad International Airport (GHIAL), which operates Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Hyderabad has won the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA) Chairman’s Order of Merit for its focus on environmental sustainability, becoming the first airport in Asia Pacific in its category to become carbon neutral. GHIAL received the award during the CAPA 12th Annual India Aviation Summit. CAPA India is a specialist aviation consulting and research practice in South Asia.

Hyderabad Airport has won numerous environment related awards such as Golden Peacock Environment Management Award, 2015; Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) Award for “Excellent Energy Efficient Unit” during the 15th and 16th National Award for Excellence in Energy Management 2014 and 2015.
