Hyderabad Traffic Challans

Hyderabad Traffic Challans, The Hyderabad Traffic Police has issued 1,32,392 e-challans against those found tampering or driving without license plates so far this year. The police have also registered 525 criminal cases against the criminals.

Since the beginning of the year, the Hyderabad Traffic Police has been running a special drive against false number plates in the city after higher authorities noticed that such vehicles were being used in criminal offences.
“During the special visit, we seized these vehicles for violating the prescribed license plate display rule and lodged a complaint with the nearest local police station. A criminal case has been registered and the owner of the vehicle has been arrested, said AV Ranganath, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic). Till the pronouncement of the verdict, the owner of the vehicle will have to appear in the case in the concerned local court.

During the special drive, the police observed and impounded the vehicles owners using fake license plates and defaced numbers/characters. Police had problems tracking criminals using such vehicles with tampered license plates to commit crimes against property or participate in traffic accidents.

To avoid traffic jam, people tamper with the registration number plate. However, a serious aspect is that anti-social elements have started doing this, putting the citizens at greater risk. This has many public order and safety implications, and incorrect number plates can mislead law enforcement agencies in the detection or investigation of a crime.

Cases will also be registered for displaying writings like “police, government vehicles, press, corporate, army, MLA and MP”, the traffic police said. “All of the above are in violation of sections 50, 51 and 52 of the Motor Vehicle Rules,” the officer said.
