Overview
Secunderabad Clock Tower was declared a heritage structure in the twin cities of hyderabad and secunderabad to seek UNESCO Heritage status for Hyderabad was revived. The height of the tower is 120 feet (37 Metres). Dedicated to British officers posted at the erstwhile secunderabad Cantonment.
Secunderabad Clock Tower was inaugurated by Resident Sir Trevor John Chichele Plowden on 1st February 1897. The clock on the tower was donated by Diwan Bahadur Seth Lakshmi Naryan Ramgopal. Originally the clock tower had 2.5 acre around it but due to road widening the area around it has been reduced considerably. Going through this site wont take much time as it just seeing the clock tower is important. When you reach here you can visit the famous Alpha Hotel opp. to secunderabad railway station for some authentic Hyderabadi biryani and Hyderabadi chai and ofcourse you can try Garden cafeteria just opposite to the clock tower for authentic Hyderabadi biryani and Hyderabadi chai.
