Counterfeit helmets are rampant in the Hyderabad metropolis. Some companies are making helmets that do not meet Indian standards and endanger motorists. Cyberabad police are whipping such people. Police are registering dozens of cases of raids on companies making fake helmets based in Delhi.
Cyberabad police have recently raided 12 industries in Ghaziabad and seized millions of fake helmets worth crores of rupees. Speaking on the occasion, Cyberabad Additional DCP Praveen said that motorists should not buy substandard helmets as they are coming at a low price. Vendors were warned to sell only BIS-marked helmets and to take legal action if found to be selling counterfeits.
